Cyber Monday iPhone Deals: Best Prices on iPhones | Macworld

Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals on iPhones have landed. While Black Friday was once considered to be a single day – one Friday after Thanksgiving in the U.S., where retailers would have huge sales in stores, then came “Cyber Monday,” another one-day event for online deals.

Now, “Black Friday” is as much a state of mind as anything, a catch-all term for any sort of sale throughout the whole back half of November, online or in stores. Still, there are a few big deals that spring up over the long weekend. Here are the latest and best deals on iPhones.

Apple is offering a $50 gift card with the purchase of an iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, or iPhone SE as part of its annual four-day shopping event, which is live now. Head here to see Apple’s deals.

If you want a deal on the iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro—Apple never offers Black Friday deals on the very latest models, instead relying on promotion trade-in offers and deals from its carrier partners. You can get up to $800 credit after trade-in with AT&T, from $400-$900 in credit after trade-in on T-Mobile, and up to $440 off after trade-in on Verizon. Verizon and T-Mobile have deals that include the iPhone 12, too.

If you don’t need the latest iPhone, Verizon has a pretty crazy deal going on. You can get an iPhone 12 mini completely free (via bill credits applied over 24 or 30 months) if you sign up for a new Unlimited plan.

Walmart was offering the iPhone SE for half off if you sign up for the prepaid Walmart Family Mobile MVNO using T-Mobile’s network. Monthly plans starts at 24.88 for 2GB of high-speed data. (Currently unavailable.)

If you’re looking for charging accessories, we’ve rounded up the best deals we could find on MagSafe and MagSafe-compatible chargers, docks, and cables. The MagSafe charging cable is down to $30 from a MSRP of $39.

Our iPhone deals guide breaks down the biggest carrier deals from the launch of the iPhone 13. Most of them require a trade-in of an older phone (not necessarily an iPhone) and you have to buy the new iPhone on a payment plan. Some carrier deals require you to activate a new line, often with specific plans.

These are the current deals from the three major U.S. carriers, but they might change (or be enhanced) for a few days around Black Friday.

Verizon: Get up to $500 off with trade-in, plus $800 more if you switch from another carrier.

AT&T: Get an iPhone 13 for free or up to $1000 off with trade-in.

T-Mobile: Get up to $1,000 off and free AirPods (2nd-gen) on Magenta MAX plan, half off both on any plan. Plus get a free iPhone SE when you sign up to a 24-month line.

Apple is always running a trade-in deal that gives you up to $700 for your old iPhone when you trade it in towards a new one. Granted, that steep savings is only if you have an iPhone 12 Pro Max to trade in, with most others fetching between $300-500.

Best Buy currently has the iPhone 13 and 13 Pro carrier deals available in its stores for those that activate a phone with Verizon, AT&T, or T-Mobile.

That means you can save from $800-1,000 on the purchase of a new iPhone, depending on the model and carrier, if you trade in an applicable phone in good condition. Lots of terms and conditions apply.

Walmart is offering up to $750 in eGift cards on most iPhone models when you trade in an old phone. The amount varies according to your trade-in, and you have to buy and activate in-store or activate online. Verizon and AT&T customers can also get a $300 gift card with the purchase of an iPhone 13 at Walmart.

Below is a breakdown of the iPhone prices across various retailers right now.

Cyber Monday AirTag Deals: Best Discounts | Macworld

The holiday shopping season is underway, and it’s a good time to pick up gifts for you family and friends (and hey, treat yourself to something nice, too!). The Apple AirTag tracking device is a great gift idea—it’s handy and useful. It’s also reasonably priced, selling for $99 for a pack of 4 AirTags, and a single AirTag is $29, but you can shop around a save a few bucks.

Apple has a holiday shopping event during Black Friday weekend, with gift cards offered instead of actual discounts. Apple is offering a $25 Apple gift card with the $99 AirTag 4 pack, which is the best offer we’ve seen so far.

If you are a member of the military or a veteran, you can shop at the Apple Military Store, where you can get 10 percent off any purchase. You will need to verify your military status using ID.me.

Deals for the AirTag 4 Pack are likely to pop up over Black Friday, but at the moment Amazon is only offering a couple of dollars off. We haven’t seen any significant discounts on the individual AirTag device that’s for sale for $29 each.

Since the AirTag doesn’t have a keyring hole, you’ll need to get an accessory to attach it to a backpack or set of keys. Amazon is selling the AirTag Loop in the Deep Navy color for $18.25, a savings of $10.75 over the regular price. Additionally, the Leather Loop in saddle brown is $34, a savings of $5.

A four-pack of the Pelican Protector Series stick-on mounts in four colors (black, orange, lime green, and gray) are on sale for $35 at Amazon, a savings of $15 off the MSRP.

The deals are usually for the AirTag 4 pack ($99) and the single AirTag ($29) rarely goes on sale.

As we pointed out in our AirTag review, the AirTag device doesn’t have a keyring hole, so you may need to buy an accessory for attaching one to a keyring, bag, or other item. Apple sells keyring, luggage tags, and other AirTag accessories, and you can find AirTag accessories from many third-parties on Amazon.

AirTag has a removable CR2032 battery that’s easily replaceable by the user. You won’t need to replace the battery for a while, but if you do notice that the AirTag isn’t working, try replacing the battery.

If you have an Apple Card, use it with Apple Pay. You get 3 percent cash back on purchases made at the Apple Store, and 2 percent back on all other purchases made using Apple Pay. If you use the physical Apple Card, you’ll only get 1 percent back.

Get $15 in Amazon credit when you buy $100 in Apple gift cards | Macworld

What do you buy the Apple fan who has everything? An Apple gift card! And right now, you can give yourself a little something if you buy Apple gift cards from Amazon. Amazon is offering a special promotion where you can get $15 in Amazon credit if you buy $100 or more in Apple gift cards. That $15 credit can come in handy with the rest of your holiday shopping.

To take advantage of this offer, go to the Amazon Apple card promo page. Then select the Apple gift cards you want–the total value of the gift cards must be $100 or more to get the Amazon credit. When you go to check out, look for the notification that says you qualify for the $15 promotional credit. If you don’t see it, enter the promo code APPLENOV at checkout and apply it.

Look for this notification when you check out to make sure you get the Amazon credit.

Amazon

Keep in mind that the credit is Amazon credit, not Apple credit, and counts only to your Amazon account. Only one credit is allowed per customer. This is a limited-time offer. Credits should arrive within three days. Also, it probably goes without saying but we’ll mention it anyway to be clear: the Apple gift cards cannot be used at Amazon and can only be used towards purchases at Apple stores or the App Stores.

How to charge Apple devices with power outlets outside the U.S. | Macworld

With the notion of travel once again seeming feasible to many people, you might find yourself in a country or region that uses a different power outlet style than the one in which your Apple gear typically operates. Fortunately, Apple makes it easy.

Apple and much of the computer, electronics, and personal hygiene appliance worlds began building power supplies into their devices starting decades ago that could handle outlet styles used globally. There are fifteen—yes, fifteen!—different plug/outlet styles around the world. (You can use this map and detailed list to plan which outlets you need to be ready for.)

All Apple equipment sold for the last 20 years requires just a different plug on the end: there’s no switch to flip or other requirements. (It’s been the case for so long, I can’t find when Apple upgraded to automatic voltage switching.) This is also true for most other electronics going back nearly as long. Even my razor has automatic switching, though my spouse’s relatively old-model hairdryer requires flipping a switch from 110 to 220.

Now you just need an adapter. For Apple gear, you have several choices:

This Mac 911 article is in response to a question submitted by Macworld reader Sandra.

We’ve compiled a list of the questions we get asked most frequently, along with answers and links to columns: read our super FAQ to see if your question is covered. AirPods drop to unbelievable all-time-lows for Cyber Monday | Macworld

Perhaps we should change the name of Cyber Monday to AirPods Monday. Apple’s earbuds have been steadily dropping in price all week and nearly every model is at an all-time-low heading into the biggest sales day of the year. Here are the best prices we’ve found

AirPods (2nd Generation): $100 ($29 off after automatic discount at checkout)

AirPods (3rd Generation): $150 ($30 off)

AirPods Pro: $179 ($70 off)

AirPods Max: $479 ($70 off)

We apologize in advance if any of the above models are out of stock. Product availability has been fluctuating on a daily, even hourly basis, so if something’s gone, be sure to check back throughout the day.

You probably don’t need to be reminded why AirPods are so great, but if you do, here are our reviews for the newest AirPods, AirPods Pro, and AirPods Max. Apple’s earbuds are often on sale, but these prices represent the lowest we’ve seen and we don’t expect them to go much lower between now and Christmas. So if you want a pair, go get em while you still can.

Cyber Monday Apple Watch SE Deal: Unmissable Discount | Macworld

We reported last week that Target would be offering the Apple Watch SE for $60 off for Black Friday, and today is your last chance to take advantage. Amazon has also matched the price. As expected, they’re selling very fast with several colors already sold out, so act fast and check back often to see if it gets restocked.

The Apple Watch SE has an identical design and display as the Series 6, but is missing some features, notably an always-on display, blood-oxygen sensor, and ECG app, as well as the faster S6 processor. You still get heart rate and rhythm readings, fall detection, noise monitoring, an always-on altimeter, 18-hour battery life with sleep tracking, and 50M water resistance.

In our review last year, we called the Apple Watch SE “one of the best smartwatches around” and that’s still true despite the arrival of the Apple Watch Series 7, which starts at $399. So go grab one before they’re all gone.

Cyber Monday Mac Utility Bundle: Smartest $75 You'll Spend Today | Macworld

While shopping at the Mac App Store is convenient, you can also find great deals if you venture outside of Apple’s marketplace. One of our favorite developers, Unclutter, is offering a killer bundle of apps for just $75 for Cyber Monday.

The Applaudables sale, which is running through the Black Friday period, collects 12 fantastic apps from small developers for 50 percent off their regular price—and even lower if you buy them all together:

You can get more information about each of these apps on the Applaudables website, and we recommend many of them. DaisyDisk tops off our list of Mac Cleaner apps, and in our review, we gave it a 4.5 stars and said it even makes clearing disk space “actually somewhat fun.” Default Folder X is an all-time favorite (5 stars), with “sophisticated, easy-to-access file-navigation options that Apple should have built into macOS decades ago.” We also looked at prior versions of Permute, SquashTextSoap, and Unclutter and found them quite useful.

You can buy each app individually, or you can buy all 12 for $75—an incredible deal since the total regular price for all 12 apps is normally $350 and $175 during this sale. There’s also a 30-day money back guarantee.

Cyber Monday M1 Mac mini Deal: Now Just $750 | Macworld

Here’s an excellent Mac deal that remains available for Cyber Monday: Amazon is selling the 512GB Mac Mini for $750 when a $29 discount is automatically applied at checkout, matching the lowest price we’ve ever tracked.

The M1 Mac mini is the only Apple silicon Mac that doesn’t come with a screen, but it doesn’t skimp on performance. You get an 8-core M1 processor with 8GB of RAM and 512GB of storage along with a pair of Thunderbolt/USB 4 ports, two USB-A ports, HDMI, ethernet, and a headphone jack. Its small enclosure means it can fit just about anywhere.

The Mac mini can be ordered for delivery in early December.

Switching from the iPhone 12 mini to the iPhone 13 Pro Max opened my eyes | Macworld

Over the years, I’ve used iPhones of all sizes. My first smartphone was the original 3.5-inch iPhone, and I’ve carried every size screen at some point—the 4-inch iPhone 5s, the 4.7-inch iPhone 6s, the 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus, the 5.8-inch iPhone X, the 6.1-inch iPhone 11, and most recently, the 5.4-inch iPhone 12 mini.

So when the iPhone 13 launched, I naturally ordered the one missing from that list: the 6.7-inch iPhone 13 Pro Max. That’s a full 1.3 inches bigger than the iPhone 12 mini that I’ve been using for the past 11 months, so it definitely took some getting used to. But along with the size and the weight—both not insignificant hurdles to overcome—I’ve learned some surprising things about the differences between Apple’s smallest and biggest iPhones.

This one might seem obvious, but until the iPhone 13 Pro Max, I had never used an iPhone that consistently lasted all day. With the iPhone 12 mini, I regularly kept a charger nearby just to ensure that I didn’t run out of juice. That’s not even the slightest concern with the iPhone 13 Pro Max. Between the bigger battery, A15 power handling advancements, and the adaptive refresh display, the iPhone 13 Pro Max is a battery beast, easily getting through a day of extremely heavy use without dipping into the red. With conservative use, I could probably get through a full weekend without a charger. It’s the single biggest reason why I would recommend the Max to anyone buying an iPhone.

Michael Simon/IDG

Since the iPhone 13 Pro has an identical design to the iPhone 13, Apple needs to distinguish it in some way, so it opted to wrap it in stainless steel rather than aluminum, which looks incredible in renders but isn’t all that great in practice. It’s heavy, it scratches easily, collects smudges, and quite frankly, doesn’t look much better than the brightly colored aluminum on the iPhone 13. I understand why Apple would use a different material for its higher-end phones, but I’m hoping the rumors of titanium for next year’s Pro models are true.

Obviously, the iPhone 13 Pro Max is substantially bigger than the iPhone 12 mini, but other than the physical size of the screen, you’re not giving up all that much between the two phones. The usual Pro-to-non-Pro differences apply—better camera, better display, better battery—but for normal tasks, the Max doesn’t really offer all that much over the mini. Unlike the Apple Watch Series 7, which offers enhanced UI elements to take advantage of the larger screen, the iPhone Max has the exact same interface as the iPhone mini.

The iPhone 13 Pro Max should take some cues from iPadOS.

IDG

That means to say you’re getting the same icon grid, widgets, dock, and App Library. The iPhone 13 Pro Max could easily fit an extra row of icons, but Apple instead has a large swatch of blank space at the bottom of the Home Screen. The same goes for the Dock, which could fit a fifth icon if Apple wanted. So the only things you’re giving up with the mini are larger photos and a couple of extra lines of text. Apple should take a page from the Apple Watch Series 7 here and retool iOS to take advantage of the extra space.

You don’t need me to tell you that the iPhone 13 Pro Max is an extremely large phone. With a 6.7-inch screen, its display is only about an inch smaller than the original iPad mini. A display that big is great for watching movies, but it’s also an excellent productivity device for things like typing long emails and editing photos. But you still have to use your fingers for everything.

The Apple Pencil would be a fantastic companion for the iPad Pro.

IDG

The Apple Pencil is a fantastic accessory for the iPad, and it would be just as valuable on the iPhone 13 Max. With a 6.7-inch display, it’s about the size of a small notebook, and a smaller Apple Pencil would be a perfect way to use it as a way to quickly just down thoughts and mark up documents. And what’s more, it would separate the iPhone 13 Max from the rest of the lineup and establish it as more of a pro productivity device, like the iPad Pro or Samsung Galaxy Note.

There have been numerous reports to suggest that the iPhone 13 mini will be the last of its kind. Poor sales have seemingly deemed the tiniest iPhone for the chopping block as iPhone buyers gravitate toward handsets with larger screens. While I certainly appreciate the iPhone Max’s 6.7-inch display, I also miss the one-handed use of the iPhone 12 mini.

If the iPhone mini really is going away with the iPhone 14 lineup, I hope Apple keeps it around with a future iPhone SE. After all, Apple currently sells the 12 mini for $599 and will presumably cut it down to $499 next year like the current iPhone 11. While rumors suggest the 2022 iPhone SE will stick with the same retro design, the next next model is almost certain to adopt a Liquid Retina display and the iPhone mini chassis would be a perfect fit.

These are the best Cyber Monday MacBook Pro deals you're going to find | Macworld

While we’ve been tracking deals on the MacBook Air and 13-inch MacBook Pro all weekend, decent discounts on the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros have been hard to come by. So, we were stoked to find these: Adorama is selling the Space Gray 14-inch MacBook Pro with an 8-core M1 processor for $1,799, a savings of $200, and the best price we’ve ever seen on this model. And the store also has the 16-inch MacBook Pro for $2,199, a savings of $300, also an all-time low.

The new MacBook Pro represents a complete revamp of Apple’s flagship laptop with a new slim-bezel design, speedy processor, and tons of ports, including Thunderbolt 4, HDMI, an SD card reader, and MagSafe charging. The M1 Pro processor that powers it is an absolute screamer that “left everything in its dust” in our benchmarks. You’re getting a slightly better chip with the 16-inch model here (10-core versus 8-core), but either one will be a speed demon

While you can still purchase either laptop, B&H says the 14-inch MacBook won’t ship for a week or two and Adorama says the 16-inch model is on backorder. But that’s a small price to pay for saving a bundle on one of the best laptops Apple has ever made.

Cyber Monday MacBook deals: Best Prices on MacBook Pro and Air | Macworld

The biggest shopping time of the year is here. Black Friday and Cyber Monday are filled with sales and there are plenty of good deals on MacBooks to be found. But how can you make sure you find the best deals? We’re here to help.

Apple’s MacBook Air and MacBook Pro will certainly make the special someone very happy this holiday season. If you want to buy a new laptop as a gift, you can find a deal and save a few dollars. For your reference, here are the regular prices for the standard configurations of the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro.

Apple doesn’t offer discounted prices for any of its products. However, Apple does offer gift cards if you make a purchase during its shopping event, which is now live. You can get a $100 Apple gift card if you buy a MacBook Air, or 13-inch MacBook Pro. Unfortunately, the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models are excluded from this event.

If your preference is to buy at Apple and nowhere else, consider shopping at Apple’s Refurbished and Clearance store. There won’t be any extra Black Friday discounts, but you can save $150 or more, depending on the laptop you pick. Refurbished Macs are just like new and they come with a full warranty.

Amazon is selling the base MacBook Air model for $900, a savings of $99. Additionally, the 512GB model is $1,100 ($150 off).

The 13-inch MacBook Pro comes in two options, 256GB and 512GB, and is on sale at many retailers for $100 or $150 off. Amazon is selling the 512GB model for $1,349 ($100 off).

Apple’s new pro laptop was released in October, and there aren’t many deals to be found. Adorama and B&H Photo were selling the entry level model for $200 off for Cyber Monday, but that deal has expired.

Apple’s new pro laptop was released alongside the 14-inch model in October, and Cyber Monday has brought great deals, with up to $300 off. Those deals have expired but we’re on the lookout for more.

For most general consumers, the MacBook Air or the 13-inch MacBook Pro is the laptop to get. It offers a great combination of price and performance. Apple’s most affordable laptop is the $999 MacBook Air, and you might be able to find it for $100 off, maybe more.

The 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros are made for pro users who make high demands of the processor and graphics. Since these laptops were just released in October, you won’t see many deals, if any at all. At most, you’ll find a deal for $100 off.

If you’re not clear on which MacBook to buy, we have a guide with recommendations for different use cases.

Be aware that many third-party retailers will have Intel-based MacBooks for sale. Apple no longer uses Intel processors in its laptops, and these Intel models are older. For example, Best Buy’s Black Friday deals on Apple laptops offer $500 or more off the regular price, but these are all Intel-based models that Apple no longer makes. Get the latest by looking for M1, M1 Pro, or M1 Max processors.

If you have an Apple Card, use it with Apple Pay. You get 3 percent cash back on purchases made at the Apple Store, and 2 percent back on all other purchases made using Apple Pay. If you use the physical Apple Card, you’ll only get 1 percent back.

If your recipient plans to use the MacBook on the road often, consider buying AppleCare+, Apple’s extended warranty. It adds up to two incidents of accidental damage protection every 12 months, each subject to a service fee of $99 for screen damage or external enclosure damage, or $299 for other damage. It also includes 24/7 priority access tech support.

Deals on the newest MacBook Pros have been hard to come by, but Cyber Monday is already delivering: Adorama is selling the Space Gray 16-inch MacBook Pro with the M1 Pro processor and 16GB of RAM for $300 off bringing the price down to $2,199, a new all-time low. If that sells out, B&H is taking $100 off the price of the same model.

The 16-inch MacBook Pro is a complete overhaul of Apple’s flagship laptop with a new slim-bezel design, tons of ports, including Thunderbolt 4, HDMI, and an SD card reader, and MagSafe charging. Plus it’s got an M1 Pro processor, which we called “an incredible chip” that “left everything in its dust” in our review of the 14-inch model.

When Safari flashes a 'Compromised Password' warning, pay attention | Macworld

I brought up a Start Page in Safari 15 and a banner at the top read “Compromised Password.” I first thought that I must have been redirected to a website that looks like the Safari Start Page. The alert looked just like the kind of phishing technique that would lure someone in to entering the password for a site they weren’t visiting.

But on closer examination and a little research, I realized it was legitimate. I’d never received this kind of alert from Apple in Safari, despite the feature first appearing in operating system releases in the third quarter of 2020. (That makes me lucky.)

Because any legitimate security alert will be duplicated and impersonated by phishers and scammers, you can validate that it’s genuine by visiting one of the following locations:

In each of those locations, you’ll see an alert about the password in question. If you dismiss the alert in Safari, it won’t appear, however.

Tap or click Change Password on the website, and Apple opens a browser window (within Passwords in iOS/iPadOS) where you can log in and then change your password, and agree to store the new one when the operating system prompts you to update the stored entry. If the site includes a configuration file in a special location, Apple opens directly to a web page for that site where you can change your password without further navigation.

While fixing one password, you can review others. At the top of the Passwords list in iOS, iPadOS, and macOS, there’s a Security Recommendations heading (tap it in iOS/iPadOS). You can scroll through a list of potentially compromised passwords, as well as those that the password system has identified as weak or used by two or more sites. Change those to reduce the risk of having accounts hijacked.

And, while you’re at, sign up for notifications at Have I Been Pwned?, a website that emails you if email addresses you register with the site appear in a data breach—one that’s dumped in a public repository, or found by researchers. 1Password relies on this database, while Apple seems to consult it along with other sources.

We’ve compiled a list of the questions we get asked most frequently, along with answers and links to columns: read our super FAQ to see if your question is covered. If not, we’re always looking for new problems to solve! Email yours to mac911@macworld.com, including screen captures as appropriate and whether you want your full name used. Apple 'investigating' widespread MacBook Pro MagSafe charging issues | Macworld

The MacBook Pro has a really long battery life, but eventually you need to charge it. But for some owners of the newest MacBook Pro, that isn’t possible. Several users on Reddit have posted that the laptop fails to charge properly when connected to the 140W MagSafe power adapter.

The issue is apparently limited to the 16-inch MacBook Pro and the 140-watt power adapter, which is included with the device for fast charging. The problem occurs when the MacBook Pro is shut down and then the MagSafe power adapter is connected. The laptop will make a ping sound and the connector’s LED flashes in a continuous loop. The battery doesn’t get charged when this happens, but if the battery is above 80 percent, then the error stops. We covered a similar charging issue last week.

Editors at our sister publication MacWelt in Germany experienced the same problem, but did have luck with a possible workaround. This involves deliberately plugging in the MagSafe adapter before shutting down or putting the MacBook to sleep, and isn’t a permanent or ideal solution. Apple will likely address the issue in an upcoming macOS Monterey update.

This issue seemingly only affect MagSafe charging and the laptops displaying the issue are able to charge when shut down using a USB-C cable instead of MagSafe. The user u/_Trillionaire_, who started the Reddit thread, said that Apple Support instructed them to keep macOS updated and charge while in sleep mode with the lid open as a workaround.

The user u/_Trillionaire_ was initially told by Apple Support to boot into Recovery Mode and then restart the Mac again, but this provided only a temporary fix.

Several users on Reddit posted that they have taken the laptop to the Apple Store for consultation and have been told that Apple is aware of the problem and is “investigating.” Some users said that after visiting the Apple Store, they were contacted by Apple to get more information about the problem. And others were offered replacement laptops.

We’ll update this article with any new information when it becomes available.

Save nearly $150 on the Nike Apple Watch Series 6 in blowout sale | Macworld

Update 2:45pm ET: The prior deal on the GPS-only version of the Nike Apple Watch has sold out.

Cyber Monday may be over, but the sales are still going strong. And we’ve found a great one today: Nike is selling the 44mm Apple Watch with cellular connectivity for $380.78, a savings of nearly $150 when you use the code CYBER for an extra 20 percent off.

While you’re missing out on a slightly larger screen and faster charging, the Apple Watch Series 6 has the same health sensors as the Apple Watch Series 7, including ECG, blood-oxygen, and heart rate, as well as fall detection, noise and sleep tracking, and an always-on display. It’s also compatible with every Series 7 band and gets you three months of Apple Fitness+ for free. It even has the same processor as the Series 7 and of course, you’ll be able to install watchOS 8 and receive future updates for years to come.

The Nike version of the Apple Watch is identical to the standard version but has a Nike Sport band and exclusive watch faces as well as the Nike Run Club app pre-installed. It has cellular connectivity, which requires monthly service to operate.

This deal is only available while supplies last and with the 40mm models already sold out, you should probably act fast if you want one.

The reports of Apple's death in China are greatly exaggerated | Macworld

It’s times like these when the Macalope remembers the sage advice of his spiritual guru who once said, “Don’t trust people. They’ll only hurt you.”

In retrospect the Macalope should probably not have picked Cormac McCarthy as a spiritual guru. But we all make mistakes.

Anyway, cast your memory back to a time long, long ago… May of this year. (That “pretend a time not that long ago was really a long time ago” gag used to land a lot better before [gestures to everything].) Back in May we were being sagely warned that Apple would experience a “large unexpected slowdown in China”. Even after that didn’t happen, some of the same people were saying the same thing in July.

SUSPECT BIG TROUBLE FOR APPLE IN CHINA is an evergreen topic.

The problem is, reality would like to have a talk with that topic’s manager.

According to Counterpoint Research, Apple was China’s largest smartphone brand last month. Now, these crowns come and go so Apple shouldn’t let it go to its head. (Wait, where else do crowns go?) The point is, China is hardly a big problem for the company right now and it doesn’t look like it’s going to be very soon, either, as the outlook for iPhone sales in China seems pretty good.

“Apple seen selling 40M iPhones during holidays despite chip shortages”

“We estimate in China alone there are roughly 15 million iPhone 13 upgrades for the December quarter as this key region remains a major source of strength for Apple heading into 2022 and beyond,” [Wedbush analyst Dan] Ives said.

You may be wondering if 15 million iPhones is a lot of iPhones. Yes, it’s a lot of iPhones.

IDG

Well, maybe you’d like a second opinion, just like when you had that mole on your back you were concerned was cancerous (it turned out it was a Raisinet that fell down the back of your shirt when you were throwing them up in the air and trying to catch them in your mouth). Okay, we can do that.

“Apple said seeing strong iPhone sales gains in China”

…J.P. Morgan analyst Samik Chatterjee said that data from the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology shows that Apple shipped 10.8 million iPhone in the country during October. Chatterjee noted that Apple has historically averaged 6.1 million shipments a month in China, and that October’s figures are the highest for a month in the country since November 2014.

You all remember 2014. That was a couple of years before Apple went out of business for having a few quarters where iPhone sales fell. And the company was never heard from again. Sad.

Well, not exactly. But that’s what should have happened according to some.

If Apple averages 6.1 million shipments in China a month and shipped 10.8 million in October, that’s what mathematicians would call “above average.” And it’s above average by an amount that someone could actually calculate and go “Whoa! That is above average!” If someone were so inclined.

The Macalope isn’t, so it would have to be someone else.

Look, invest in Apple, don’t invest in Apple, it doesn’t matter to the horny one. He quit playing the ponies years ago. Just don’t pretend flailing your arms about tiny month to month blips in iPhone sales like a used car lot air dancer is “analysis.”

Apple releases for December 2021 | Macworld

There’s no doubt about it: Apple’s releases are starting to wind down for the year. We think all the significant hardware coming this year is out now, and even the Apple TV+ shows are slowing to a trickle. We’ll probably get new iOS and macOS updates in December, along with a handful of Apple Arcade and Apple TV+ releases. These are all the things we think Apple might release in December.

November releases from Apple were non-existent, unless you don’t count the Beat Fit Pro from Apple’s Beats brand. With just four weeks left until Christmas, it would seem like Apple’s done with product announcements. However, Apple’s has surprised us before, more recently with last year’s AirPods Max.

AirPods Max colors: It’s been nearly a year since Apple launched its luxury over-the-ear AirPods, and while we’re not expecting a new model just yet, we’ve heard rumors that new colors could be on the way. That would give Apple’s most expensive AirPods a boost just as the holiday shopping season kicks into high gear.

AirPods Pro: New AirPods Pro seem even less likely than new AirPods Max colors, but there have been strong rumors about a redesigned second-generation model on the way for months. And retailers were running something of a fire sale on AirPods over Black Friday weekend, so you never know.

We thought Apple might release iOS 15.2 and macOS 12.1 in November, but it didn’t quite get there. It seems very likely it will come early in December, with a beta of iOS 15.3 and macOS 12.2 following shortly after.

iOS 15.2: Apple is already testing the third beta of iOS 15.2, which adds the App Privacy Report, macro camera changes, Legacy Contacts, and more.

iPadOS 15.2: This update adds the same features as iOS 15.2 (except for the macro mode camera stuff).

macOS 12.1: The first update for macOS Monterey adds SharePlay and several bug fixes. But arguably the best feature, Universal Control, is still missing. We don’t expect it until macOS 12.2, and are starting to wonder if it won’t slip to 2022 (Apple still says it’s coming this fall, but there are only three weeks left until winter).

There were a lot of releases on Apple TV+ in November, but December is pretty thin, with only two new programs on offer. Check our list of upcoming AppleTV+ shows, series, and movies for everything on the horizon.

Mariah’s Christmas: The Magic Continues: Another big Mariah Carey musical Christmas special with lots of special guests and musical artists. Streams on December 3.

Snoopy Presents: For Auld Lang Syne: After Lucy experiences a disappointing Christmas because her Grandma couldn’t visit, she resolves to throw the best New Year’s Eve party ever for the entire Peanuts gang, while Charlie Brown struggles to accomplish just one of his resolutions before the clock strikes twelve. Streams on December 10.

Swan Song: A film starring Mahershala Ali and Naomi Harris. Set in the near future, Cameron is a loving husband and father who is expecting his second child with his wife Poppy. When diagnosed with a terminal illness, he is presented with an alternative solution by his doctor to shield his family from grief. Streams December 17.

The Shrink Next Door: Episodes 6-8 of the Paul Rudd and Will Farrell airing on December 3, 10, and 17.

Dr. Brain: The Kim Jee-woon sci-fi series concludes with episodes 5 and 6 on December 2 and 9.

Invasion: The sci-fi starring Sam Neill concludes on December 10.

Apple will also stream special holiday episodes of the children’s series Get Rolling with Otis and Stillwater on December 3.

Apple releases new games to Apple Arcade on Fridays, but not every Friday is marked by a new game or significant update. Check our Apple Arcade FAQ for a full list of Apple Arcade games and more details on the service. Many games are released with no forewarning, but you’ll often see a couple of projects listed in the Coming Soon section. Some have release dates, but most seem to launch by surprise. Games with a “+” at the end are titles that have already been released in the App Store but are just getting a new version (without ads or microtransactions) in Apple Arcade.

Here are the titles in the Coming Soon section, some of which should launch in December.

Dandara: Trials of Fear+: A unique “metroidvania” side-scrolling action game first released to the App Store in 2018.

Oddmar+: An Apple Design Award 2018 Winner, Oddmar marries physics puzzles and platforming in this Viking-themed adventure.

Splitter Critters+: A unique puzzle game first released in 2017. “Split” the world with a swipe and then shift and rearrange it to guide the critters.

Disney Melee Mania: An Arcade exclusive brawler featuring lots of Disney and Pixar characters.

iOS 15 superguide: Features, tips, updates | Macworld

Apple’s next big update for a billion-plus iPhones is iOS 15. A beta for developers was made available on the first day of WWDC, June 7, 2021. The beta was then expanded to public beta testers in its second release, on June 30, 2021. And Apple launched iOS 15 on Monday, September 20.

This page collects all our major articles about iOS 15: FAQs and feature guides, how-tos, tips, updates, and news. It’s your one-stop shop for all the iOS 15 related content on Macworld. We’ll continue to update this page as we post more iOS 15-related news, how-tos, and updates.

Apple released iOS 15.1 on October 25, 2021. It adds SharePlay, vaccination records in the Health app, a toggle for Auto Macro and ProRes recording on iPhone 13 Pro, and several other small features.

Apple is currently testing the iOS 15.2 beta, which brings several new features, including App Privacy Report, Legacy Contact, and Communication Safety in Messages. To participate in the public beta, visit beta.apple.com on your iPhone or iPad, tap the “Sign up” button (or Log in if you’re previously been a beta tester) and follow the steps to download the beta profile.

What’s new in iOS 15? As usual, the big new iPhone operating system update comes with lots of new features, design changes, and improvements. We’ve compiled a list of all the big new features in iOS 15.

Now that iOS 15 has been released, all you have to do to update is open the Settings app, tap General, then Software Update. We also have an article with the full release notes, and another that weighs the pros and cons of updating right away or waiting.

A number of iOS 15 features will not be ready yet when iOS 15 first rolls out to the general public. SharePlay, Legacy Contacts, CSAM scanning, and Universal Control are all rolling out in an update later this year. We have a guide to iOS 15’s delayed features to keep you up to date on what’s coming and when.

The marquee features of iOS 15 are great, but there are just as many super-cool hidden features that Apple didn’t tell us about. Here are the best ones we’ve found so far.

Every iOS release brings its share of bugs. Here’s what users have reported in iOS 15 so far:

Deleted Shared Messages Photos: Some users are having shared photos deleted from their library when deleting the corresponding iMessage. FIXED in iOS 15.0.2

CarPlay: Audio apps won’t play or crash during playback. FIXED in iOS 15.0.2

Apple Music library: iPhone 13 users are unable to access their music library. FIXED in iPhone 13 update

Home screen widgets: iPhone 13 users are unable to customize widgets. FIXED in iPhone 13 update

Unlock with Apple Watch: Some iPhone 13 users aren’t able to unlock their iPhone using their Apple Watch while wearing a mask. FIXED in iOS 15.0.1

Should you update now or wait?

Apple constantly improves its Safari browser, but iOS 15 is the first time in a long time that it will actually have a substantially new interface. When you first visit a website after upgrading to iOS 15, it’s going to be a shock (and a lot of people aren’t going to like it). Learn how to use the radically new Safari browser in iOS 15. Fortunately, if you want to move the address bar back to the top like it used to be, you can do that. Follow our guide to learn how.

IDG

New to iOS 15 are some great new features meant to reduce distractions and keep your phone from always nagging you to pick it up. One of the best is a new Notification Summary tool that bundles up notifications that aren’t time-sensitive and delivers them at the time of your choosing. Learn how to use the new Notification Summary feature here.

Once limited to Apple only devices, you’ll have the ability to share links to FaceTime calls with Android or Windows users, who can join on the web. FaceTime links can be used to get everyone on board at a future date, too. Learn all about the new FaceTime Links and how to talk to Android or Windows users.

IDG

Another great tool to help you avoid unwanted distractions is Focus. With Focus you can set your iPhone (and iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch) into a customized “mode” that silences interruptions from all but the people and apps you determine, and can even display or hide specific home screens. Set up Focus modes for working, driving, sleeping, gaming, whatever… you can even set triggers to turn them on or off automatically. Learn all about how to use Focus and how to let calls and messages from important people through.

One of the great annoyances of the iPhone is that you need an internet connection to use Siri. With iOS 15, that’s finally changing! Siri will process your voice and do many of your requests entirely offline. Launching apps, changing settings, turning on the flashlight, setting timers, adjusting music playback, and much more will work even in airplane mode. This on-device processing also makes Siri much faster. Learn more about Siri offline processing here.

With iOS 15 you can select text in pictures, and interact with it the way you do throughout the system: copy and paste, look up definitions, call phone numbers, look up addresses in Maps, and so on. In works in the Camera app, Photos, and even on images in Safari. Learn how to use Live Text here.

In iOS 15, the links and content that people send you in Messages will automatically appear in the associated apps in a new “Shared with You” section. So instead of having to go to Messages, find the thread, and scroll back to find that link someone sent you, you’ll find web links right in Safari, images in Photos, Apple Music links will be in Music, TV app content in the TV app, and so on. Here’s how Shared with You works.

With iOS 15 you can use your camera to scan and copy text into almost any text input field! It’s essentially a new option to go along with cut and paste…now it’s cut, paste, and scan. Our guide to scanning text in iOS 15 shows you how.

Apple has finally built translation right into the operating system, which means you can translate text in almost any app that lets you select text. You can even download language packs and do the translation entirely offline, if you want. Check out our feature on how to translate text with iOS 15.

The best deals on iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro | Macworld

It’s been a long time since you could only get an iPhone directly from Apple or from AT&T. Today, it’s offered by all major carriers and big retailers, and many of them want to entice you to buy with them by offering special deals. Of course, you can still buy from Apple directly, either in-store or online.

Update 10/01/21: Depending on the model, color, and capacity, many iPhone 13 models are currently backordered by as much as a month. You might have to shop around, or wait, to get exactly what you want.

If you haven’t yet put in your order for an iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro, here’s a summary of some of the best deals and promotions offered by popular retailers to help you get the best deal on your new iPhone. For each, we’ll tell you about any current promotions and offers, when you should consider buying there, and most importantly when you shouldn’t.

Buying direct from Apple is one of the few ways to buy an unlocked, SIM-free iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro, and it’s the go-to place to join the iPhone Upgrade Program. Apple will let you trade in your old iPhone (in good condition) as credit toward a new purchase, too.

Apple is once again partnering with carriers to offer discounts on the iPhone 13 mini and iPhone 13. You get a $30 discount if you buy a phone activated on AT&T, Verizon, or T-Mobile/Sprint.

One other way to look at it: Apple’s heavily-advertised $699/799 prices for the iPhone 13 mini and iPhone 13 are only applicable to phones activated on a carrier network, and the true starting price of those phones is $729/829. As was the case last year, the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max do not have such a deal and start at $999 and $1,099.

Apple is also partnering with carriers on trade-in deals. So much so that it set up a whole page to break them down for you.

For AT&T, you can get practically any iPhone 13 model for $0 a month (the iPhone 13 Pro Max will cost you $2.75 per month), which comes out to an “up to $1,000” discount. But you have to trade in an iPhone XS Max or newer, you have to upgrade an existing line or activate a new one, there’s a $30 upgrade/activation fee, and the money comes in the form of bill credits that must be applied over a 36-month installment plan. Still, if you meet all those conditions, it’s a pretty great deal.

On T-Mobile, you get both a trade-in credit from Apple (from $200 for an iPhone X up to $790 for an iPhone 12 Pro Max) plus $500 in T-Mobile bill credits if you have the Magenta Max plan or upgrade to it. If you have a lesser plan, you get $200 in bill credits. The bill credits are applied over 24 months.

Verizon offers up to $800 in trade-in credit for any iPhone X or newer, which means you can get an iPhone 13 Pro for $6.63 per month over 30 months. If you buy an iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 mini, the bill credit is applied over 24 months. However, the offer is only good for unlimited plans.

In every case, you can expect to pay tax on the full value of the phone at the time of purchase, and you should expect it to take a couple of billing cycles before the bill credits kick in.

Apple

It’s nice to be able to buy directly from Apple and still get carrier trade-in deals, though the actual specifics of those deals are still as byzantine and restrictive as ever. Apple did this for the first time with the iPhone 12 last year, and it apparently proved popular enough to do it again.

As usual, Apple is probably the best and easiest way to buy a new iPhone that is carrier unlocked and activation-free, so you’re not locked into several-year payment plans or specific service requirements (or if you use a carrier that isn’t one of the big three).

If you want to buy your phone with the iPhone Upgrade Program, you’ll have to do it at the Apple Store or in the Apple Store iOS app. If you always want the latest iPhone every year, the iPhone Upgrade Program is a pretty good option. You pay off your iPhone in 24 monthly installments but can swap it in for a new iPhone after 12 months (thus renewing the 24-month contract). You have to buy AppleCare+ as part of the program, however, which starts at $199.

When buying directly from Apple with an Apple Card, you get 3 percent cash back. What’s more, Apple will now let you pay for a new iPhone with your Apple Card in 24 monthly installments, interest-free.

If you plan to switch to a different carrier or open a new line, buying directly from the carrier can be a better bargain—many carriers offer nice incentives to switch over or activate new lines. From time to time, carriers may offer deals (“buy one get one free” or other rebates), though those usually require some sort of long-term commitment. The best carrier deals tend to be for new line activations and transfers, though.

Apple offers trade-in value for your old iPhone, but it’s often less than what you’ll get through a carrier (with the caveat that carriers want to lock you into a long-term payment plan).

AT&T’s deal gives you “up to” $1,000 off, but what that really means is a big monthly bill credit on a 36-month installment plan.

You’ll need to buy your iPhone 13 on an installment plan, paying taxes on full retail price (upfront) and a $30 activation/upgrade fee. You also have to activate/keep postpaid unlimited voice & data wireless service (min. $75/mo. for new unlimited customers before discounts), and trade in an eligible smartphone in good working condition within 30 days of activation.

With all that, you’ll get up to $1,000 in bill credits with a smartphone trade-in value of $180 or higher.

If you’re already a happy AT&T customer, or if you don’t mind being saddled to the company for three years, your new phone will be “free” assuming you meet all of the conditions. Just know that the deals are typically designed to get you really attached to the carrier.

If you want the freedom to hop to different carriers at a whim, or would rather not pay with a three-year installment plan, buying your iPhone 13 or 13 Pro directly from AT&T is not your best option. Plus there’s a bunch of fine print to consider on the current deal.

Sprint doesn’t really have any iPhone 13 deals for regular consumers, because Sprint all but doesn’t exist for regular consumers anymore. Sprint has been bought by T-Mobile, and all Sprint deals are redirected through them.

If you have Sprint, your new phone purchase deals are delivered through T-Mobile. If you don’t, you can’t even really sign up for Sprint service anymore. Existing customers are grandfathered into their plans, but service is through the “new T-Mobile.”

T-Mobile will let you buy an iPhone 13 for up to $1,000 off, applied as monthly bill credits on a 30-month payment plan. That essentially makes the phone “free”, except for the tax you have to pay on the full value of the phone. You get $1000 off if you trade in an iPhone 12 Pro/Pro Max, iPhone 11 Pro/Pro Max, and up to $800 off if you trade in an iPhone 12/12 mini, iPhone 11, iPhone X/XR/XS/XS Max. The deals continue all the way down to $200 for some older phones, and you get trade-in credits for comparable Android phones, too. You have to have a Magenta MAX, Magenta Plus, One Plus, Sprint MAX, Plus or Premium UNL service to qualify for the iPhone 13 Pro deal.

If you want the iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 mini, T-Mobile has what it calls a “Forever Upgrade” plan. You get up to $800 off depending on what phone you trade in, again issued as monthly bill credits on a 24-month payment plan. And you have to pay the tax upfront on the full phone price. But in two years when your payment plan is over, you’re guaranteed an $800 trade-in value for your iPhone 13, and so on…forever.

Basically, T-Mobile’s ensuring a good trade-in price on your iPhone every two years if you want to stay a T-Mobile customer forever, with at least a Magenta MAX plan.

Everybody’s playing the same game: monthly bill credits over years to keep you a customer and ensure you don’t jump ship without losing out on hundreds of dollars in value. T-Mobile’s no different, but its trade-in values are respectable.

If you love T-Mobile and want to stay a customer forever, you can ensure that every two years you get at least $800 in upgrade credit. The trade-in value on Android phones for the iPhone 13 Pro deal is pretty good if you’re thinking of switching.

You still have to activate the phone with a carrier, but you can at least pay the full price upfront if you don’t want to do the whole “trade in and do several years of monthly bill credits” dance. And six months of Apple Music and Apple News+ is a nice perk, too.

Apple

Verizon’s deal is aimed at the 128GB iPhone 13 Pro. You can get a “free” 128GB iPhone 13 Pro with select trade-ins on with select Unlimited data plans. If you bring a number from another carrier, Verizon will also give you a $500 Virtual Prepaid Mastercard.

Verizon gives six months of Apple Arcade free with “Start” and “Do More” Unlimited plans, or 12 months on us with “Play More” or “Get More” Unlimited plans. You also get six months of Apple Music free (the Get More Unlimited plan includes Apple Music every month with no limit).

Why you should buy here
Verizon’s plan is a good deal for those looking to trade in and specifically want the 128GB iPhone 13 Pro—it’s not good for any other models.

Why you shouldn’t buy here
The deal is really aimed at the 128GB iPhone 13 Pro. If you want any other model, you’re better off buying through Apple, even if you have Verizon.

The iPhone 13 and 13 Pro are currently only available locked to Cricket Wireless through Amazon, which offers unlimited data for $55/month. Like the other stores, Amazon is offering trade-in deals on the iPhone 13, with savings of up to $671, depending on the model you have.

Amazon rarely has deals on the latest iPhone models, but it can be a good place to score a good price on an older certified refurbished model. Plus you’ll get 5 percent back on your purchase if you have an Amazon credit card.

With the exception of the Cricket locks phones, you’re almost never buying directly from Amazon, but rather through a reseller. And most of the iPhones you’ll find on Amazon are certified refurbished, which isn’t a bad thing, but it’s not the place to go if you’re looking for a brand new model.

If you buy an iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro from Best Buy, you’ll have to activate it on one of the carriers. You can get most of the same carrier trade-in deals you get from the carriers themselves, earning a big trade-in value that comes in the form of monthly bill credits when you purchase on an installment plan.

Best Buy will also let you just purchase the phone for the full price (with activation), and give you $100 off in the form of a Best Buy gift card (which you cannot apply to the phone purchase). Best Buy also gives you six months of Apple Music and Apple News+ free with your purchase.

If you want to trade in a phone for big money, you’re basically stuck with the same crummy deals you get from the carriers. And if you want to pay full price, you still have to activate with a carrier.

Buying a phone directly from a fellow consumer (be it a used or new-in-box option) can always be a bit of a risk. But you can also save plenty of money if you’re willing to be patient and negotiate on price.

Just be careful. Only buy from qualified sellers with lots of positive feedback, or from someone local so you can go inspect the phone and make sure it works properly and is in the promised condition before handing over a single penny.

On a just-released phone like the iPhone 13 or 13 Pro, you’re not likely to find a good deal when buying directly from another consumer. In fact, you’ll probably pay more, especially if the model you want is in short supply. But if every store is out of stock and you can’t get one for another three weeks, and you just have to have that particular model right now, this may be your only option.

There are two good reasons to buy an iPhone from eBay or Craigslist (or other similar person-to-person markets):

1. You don’t want the newest hottest model and aren’t in a rush to buy, so you can take your time finding a good deal on the phone you want in great condition.

2. You do want the newest hottest model, the one that’s totally out of stock everywhere, and you just have to have it now even if it means paying an inflated price.

If you want the latest iPhone and it hasn’t been on the market for six months, you’re not likely to find a good deal. You’ll spend a lot of time trying to find one that isn’t scratched, chipped, or cracked. And then, on top of all that, you have to worry about getting ripped off.

Apple

The deals at Sam’s Club are really only for customers who want to switch to AT&T from another carrier. At the time of this writing, Sam’s Club doesn’t offer the iPhone 13. In the past, it offered deals to give several hundred dollars in bill credits to those who are willing to activate a new line on AT&T and purchase through an installment plan.

If you’ve already determined you want to switch from your current carrier to AT&T, you can save a decent amount. Honestly, even if you do, the deal directly from AT&T is much better.

This is only useful for those switching to AT&T. Past iPhone deals here were a lot worse than AT&T’s own deals.

As a person-to-person sales market, deals on Swappa vary widely. Depending on the age and condition of a device, you can pay anything from above retail (on very hard-to-get iPhone models) to hundreds of dollars less. If you missed the early-preorder window and you want a hot new iPhone right away, you can probably buy a new-in-box model direct from another consumer…at a considerable markup.

Don’t expect to find any good deals on the iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro in any person-to-person marketplace until the phone has been available for at least a few months.

There are lots of person-to-person sales services out there, from eBay to OfferUp to Letgo to Facebook Marketplace, and they all carry their share of risk of the seller trying to rip you off.

We like Swappa because it does more to protect buyers: The company reviews every listing to help ensure that the seller isn’t a scammer. It verifies ESN numbers to weed out any that are not fully paid for, listed as stolen, or unavailable for activation. It makes sure that sellers have reset the device and disabled iCloud so it can be set up as a new user. And it requires verification photos to prove ownership and verify condition.

Is it fool-proof? No, but sellers on Swappa have to jump through just enough hoops to keep most of the scammers at bay. If you’re buying a phone from a random person on the internet, that’s a big deal.

No matter how diligent Swappa is about eliminating scammers and fraud, you’re still buying a phone directly from another human over the internet using a PayPal account. You can save a lot of money, but there are always things that can go wrong—and you don’t have the same recourse as if you bought from a major retailer or carrier.

Walmart will give you AT&T and Verizon subscribers up to $100 off the full retail price of the iPhone 13 or the iPhone 13 Pro. There don’t seem to be my limitations other than buying with an AT&T plan. There is also a trade-in portal that will score you Walmart gift cards.

If you’re an AT&T customer or want to switch, Walmart is one of the only places offering money off a new iPhone without trading in an old phone.

If you aren’t looking for an AT&T or Verizon model, you’ll need to shop elsewhere.
